There are three types of companies that buy houses for cash:

Cash Home Buyers: Cash home buyers can be small or large companies or even individual real estate investors that pay cash for homes. The size of the company depends on the owner.

These cash investors typically buy houses to hold onto them (buy and hold). Once bought, they will renovate them and rent them out. Another option is they wholesale them (sell the contract), or they’ll “fix and flip” (think HGTV).

People will lease or buy an area of the company. The corporations then conduct marketing campaigns on behalf of local franchisees, who buy houses as-is for cash and then flip or redevelop them.

These companies pride themselves on inventing the “game,” as they put it. However, at what point is buying or selling someone’s house a game? It is way more serious than that to me. What about you?
